On Wednesday, September 9th at 7:00pm, Chevalier’s will be hosting a talk and book signing with Corie Brown, co-founder of Zester Media and lead reporter and writer of Start Your Own Microbrewery, Distillery or Cidery. As an added treat, beer and spirits will be available for tasting!
Evan Weinberg of Cismontane Brewing Company in Santa Ana will bring in great beers to taste and discuss. We will also have Andrew and Anthony Caspary (Loyola High School grads!) of Ventura Spirits Company speaking about and pouring selections from their distillery. AND there will be munchies on hand to go with the beer and liquor!
Corie Brown is co-founder of Zester Media, a cooperative business representing food and drink writers. A former staffer with the Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, Premiere Magazine and BusinessWeek, Corie is a regular contributor to Entrepreneur Magazine, with whom Zester recently released Start Your Own Microbrewery, Distillery or Cidery. Corie is on the board of Chefs Collaborative, a nonprofit network of chefs working to change the sustainable food landscape.
In Start Your Own Microbrewery, Distillery or Cidery, Corie tells the stories of more than 30 craft producers, including pioneers like Ken Grossman of Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Jörg Rupf, creator of Hangar 1 Vodka, Kent Rabish, owner of Grand Traverse Distillery, and Mike Beck, co-owner of Uncle John’s Cider Mill. You’ll gain an insider’s look at how to analyze craft products, their distinct challenges, and dynamic market; capture customers and create evangelists with the story behind the brand; and enhance the brand experience with events, taprooms, tastings, and tours.
If you are interested in starting your own business in the field, or if you’re an alcohol enthusiast, you won’t want to miss this fun and unique event–plus it comes with free tastings and munchies!
