Mystery Night with Steph Cha, Elizabeth Little & Lisa Brackmann

Thursday, September 17th, 7:00pm, Chevalier’s invites you to a night of mystery with Steph Cha, Elizabeth Little and Lisa Brackmann. These three acclaimed mystery writers will be reading from their books with a Q&A to follow.

BrackmannLisa Brackmann has worked as an executive at a major motion picture studio, an issues researcher in a presidential campaign, and was the singer/songwriter/bassist in an LA rock band. Her debut novel, Rock Paper Tiger, set on the fringes of the Chinese art world, was nominated for the Strand Magazine Critics Award for Best First Novel. Her second novel, Getaway, won the Los Angeles Book Festival Grand Prize and was nominated for the T. Jefferson Parker SCIBA award.

Elizabeth Little is the author of the nonfiction books Biting the Wax Tadpole: Confessions of a Language Fanatic and Trip of the Tongue: Cross-Country Travels in Search of America’s Languages. Her work has appeared in the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, and she has been a guest on NPR’s All Things Considered, The World, and Here and Now. A graduate of Harvard University, she grew up in St. Louis and now lives in Los Angeles with her family. Her debut novel Dear Daughter was longlisted for the CWA John Creasey Dagger, and won the Strand Critics Award for Best First Novel.

60080286Steph Cha is the author of Follow Her Home and Beware Beware. Her writing has appeared in the LA Times, the LA Review of Books, and Trop Magazine. A graduate of Stanford University and Yale Law School, she lives in her native city of Los Angeles.
