To celebrate the fellowship’s 20th Anniversary, PEN Center USA is opening The Emerging Voices Author Evening Series to the public. Free to PEN Center USA members!
We at Chevalier’s are honored to host this series. Author Evening Series events will include a brief reading, conversation, and a question-and-answer session with the audience. We recommend that you read: Sorry Please Thank You: Stories by Charles Yu, and The People of Paper by Salvador Plascencia, in preparation for the Monday, February 8th Author Evening at 7:30 pm, and arrive ready to engage in discussion.

Charles Yu’s books include How to Live Safely in a Science Fictional Universe (which was named one of the best books of the year by Time magazine), Sorry Please Thank You: Stories, and Third Class Superhero, which received the National Book Foundation’s “5 Under 35” Award and was a finalist for the PEN Center USA Literary Award. His work has been published in The New York Times, Playboy, and Slate, among other periodicals. Yu lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Michelle, and their two children. He is currently writing for the upcoming HBO series Westworld.
