Indies First  is a program originally created by Sherman Alexie  as a way for authors to give back to their local bookstores. This year, Lena Dunham is the official spokesperson for our noble cause! The idea is that authors will volunteer as booksellers on Small Business Saturday, recommending great books for all your gift-giving needs. If anyone reads as much as booksellers, it’s definitely authors, so you’ll get some great recommendations! And as if that’s not enough, we’ve got two – count ‘em two –  terrific exemplars of that formidable breed — the school librarian!  — each from Pilgrim School, sharing their wide-ranging and insightful expertise.
