SproutsCurious about new seeds of literary talent sprouting in our midst?  The UC Irvine MFA Reading Series is a program that provides current graduate students in fiction and poetry the opportunity to showcase their work to an audience of their peers and the greater community of Southern California. The reading will feature pieces by poets Nick Maurer and Nicholas Reiner and fiction writers Rebecca Schultz and Rebecca Sacks. Reading.

nick_mNick Maurer grew up in the small town of Yucaipa, CA, which boasts global renown for its egg ranching, soda shops and Stater Brothers heritage. As a child, one of his now best friends admired his keen ability to bridge the gender gap at an early age. His number one strength is the calf muscle of his right leg, which still proves to be a pillar of stability as he pursues excellence in painting, disc-jockeying, and poetry.

Rebecca Sacks moved to Irvine from Israel. She received a BA from Dartmouth College and an MA from Tel Aviv University. Between degrees she worked at a magazine in New York.
